JAWAN to Costa Rica

Japan Wetlands Action Network released the following position paper to the seventh Conference of Parties to the Ramsar Convention to be held at San Jose, Costa Rica from 10 to 18 May. The Network released this at a press conference on 23 April together with other wetlands conservation organisations in Japan, WWF - Japan and the Wild Bird Society in Japan.

Two of the major issues for the Conference are Draft Resolution on Means toward Conservation of further Intertidal Wetlands and Conveying the Importance of Contribution of Indigenous People/Local People/NGOs in Conservation of Wetlands. The latter Issue will be discussed and reported to the conference itself as the result of NGO conference prior to the Conference of the Parties.
